Animal Care Intern

Internship Type: Academic Credit plus (Paid $10)

Hours: 15 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 3 hours per day)

Position Summary

Legacy Partners in Environmental Education offers a semester-long internship designed to provide students with practical experience in environmental education, wildlife husbandry, and nonprofit operations. Under the supervision of an on-site preceptor, interns will complete a faculty-approved project that makes a meaningful contribution to Legacy while gaining hands-on experience caring for the organization’s ambassador animals.

Throughout the internship, students will work approximately 15 hours per week, dividing their time between daily animal care responsibilities and completion of their semester project. At the conclusion of the internship, students will submit a final report or presentation in accordance with their university’s internship requirements.
