Board Member

Ms. Goocher is an Environmental Manager with the Alabama Department of Public Health. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Master’s Degree in Education from Auburn University at Montgomery and is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist with the National Environmental Health Association. This year marks her 28th year with this Agency. She began her career as a Public Health Environmentalist, specializing in food safety inspections and training. She has also worked as the Food and Lodging Supervisor, Assistant Environmental Director and Director at the Montgomery County Health Department. In February 2019, she transferred to the Shelby County Health Department and was recently promoted to be the Northeast District Environmental Director for 11 Alabama counties managing staff and activities in all environmental programs. She is a member of the Alabama Environmental Health Association, the National Environmental Health Association, and The Alabama Public Health Association, Alabama Vector Management Society and Legacy, Partners in Environmental Education. She is also serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer, for Legacy.
