Dr. Robinson is the K—12 Science Content Specialist and AP Program Manager at the Alabama State Department of Education. Her responsibilities include supporting the district’s science and Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate curricula so that students experience the increased rigor and depth of understanding required to prepare them for college and/or career. She also provides support to LEAs in the areas of Course Codes and diploma/general curriculum among other tasks.
Previously, she taught high school science in the Birmingham City Schools and at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. She obtained National Board Certification in Adolescence and Young Adulthood/Science and has supported teacher candidates in their pursuit of National Board certification. She also supervises scorers of a pre-service assessment that documents and demonstrates a Science teacher candidate’s ability to effectively teach his/her subject matter to all students.
She is published in Best Practices for Teacher Leadership: What Award Winning Teachers Do for their Professional Learning Communities (Corwin Press, 2006) and co-authored STEM Teaching Tool #87, Identifying local environmental justice phenomena for science and engineering investigations.
Dr. Robinson holds degrees and/or certifications in science, science education, and instructional leadership from Tennessee State University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Samford University, and Nova Southeastern University.
