Sierra Hulsey Stiles is the Director of Turtle Point Science Center in Escambia County, Alabama. An Alabama native, and life-long nature lover, Sierra was born in Birmingham and earned her Bachelor of Science degree at UAB. She has spent years researching wildlife all over Alabama and teaching others about Alabama’s amazing biodiversity. She studied biology at Auburn University where she earned a master’s degree working on the reintroduction of a federally threatened species, the Eastern Indigo Snake. Sierra finished a second master’s degree at Auburn University in Science Education. She was honored to receive the award for “Best Environmental Educator” from the Environmental Education Association of Alabama in 2022.
