Jayme Oates is a graduate of the University of South Alabama (B.S. Environmental Science), and Auburn University (M.S. Horticulture). She has worked as Education Coordinator with Alabama Water Watch, developing education materials and training Alabama Citizens to monitor the water quality of their local lakes and streams. She formed a 501(c)3, Farmscape Solutions, to increase awareness and extend assistance related to regenerative farming and gardening practices to farmers, gardeners, community gardens and school gardens throughout Alabama. She is dedicated to helping people find their place as stewards of the natural world, with the hopes of opening hearts and minds to the awe and wonder of Nature. She and her son, Owen, love to hike, kayak, swim, and camp in the beautiful forests across Alabama and the southeast.
Ms. Kyla Garcia, an Environmental Science major at Auburn University Montgomery plans to work in the field of zoology/conservation education once she graduates from AUM. Her passion for animals and nature led her to volunteer at Lanark in Millbrook AL, caring for their education outreach animals. When Kyla’s not working with Legacy or in school, she works as a pet sitter and enjoys painting. Kyla’s wishes to gain as much experience as possible in the conservation field.
